This related professional organization (RPO) was formed in March of 1992 for Hispanic communication professionals and those serving the Hispanic community. The group, co-founded by Alexandra Heinsen-Combs and myself, presently consists of over 350 members. The Hispanic Caucus was organized to serve as a forum and voice for meeting the immediate professional needs and the needs of future generations of Latino speech-language and hearing professionals. With a common cause and purpose, one of its goals is to unite and share in the challenges, frustrations, and accomplishments of daily clinical and professional life, ultimately helping the professionals as well as the Hispanic population being served.
