The National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH) is a nonprofit corporation for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes, founded in 1978 to meet the needs and aspirations of black speech-language and hearing professionals, black students, and the black community. NBASLH is dedicated to the sharing of information about communication impairments and differences among black people; professional development of speech-language pathologists, audiologists and students, and advocacy of quality service delivery to the black community.
The national office of NBASLH is located in Washington, DC and is headed by M. Eugene Wiggins as executive director. An elected Board of Directors, chaired by Janice M. Wright, governs NBASLH.
