The theme for this column is collaboration and joint efforts. We, Division 14, are co-publishing this topical newsletter with Division 12, Augmentative and Alternative Communication on AAC with multicultural and multilingual populations. Gloria Soto has graciously served as the Guest Editor, while Diane Scott and Adele Proctor have reviewed the articles. We are sponsoring a Short Course and seminar for the 2000 ASHA Convention. We are co-sharing the Short Course with Division 16 (ASHA’s newly created special interest division on school-based issues). Our Short Course is appropriate for both audiences. The Short Course is “Designing an Infant and Language Preschool in Spanish” presented by Alina de la Paz, Kelly Nett and Karmarie Fernandez. The Division 14-sponsored seminar is on mentoring. The speakers are Fred Hall, Janice Wright, and Donna Geffner.
