Welcome to the first issue of the 2014 volume of Perspectives on Communication Disorders and Sciences in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations. As always, the New Year offers a renewal of spirits and fresh opportunities to reach new heights, creating both the expectation and inspiration for SIG 14 as we embark on a new year of programming. For starters, Perspectives Editor, Nidhi Mahendra, has heightened our anticipation of fresh opportunities for continuing education (CE) in upcoming Perspectives issues, one focusing on issues of cultural and linguistic diversity (CLD) in healthcare, and another highlighting the issues of CLD in speakers of Middle Eastern languages. Stay tuned throughout the year and tell your colleagues about all of the information-rich, CE opportunities (our biggest selling point) featured in SIG 14's Perspectives articles.
